Mark Mandle was a founding board member of the Chicago Jewish Historical Society in 1977. All told, he has served on its board for about 35 years. Mark has led tours for the Society, written articles for its Chicago Jewish History journal, and has headed its Oral History committee.
A sixth-generation Chicagoan, Mark is a native of the city’s South Side. He is also among the few sixth-generation members of Hyde Park’s KAM Isaiah Israel, a Reform congregation that is the oldest standing synagogue in Chicago.
