Janet Iltis, Secretary
A 40-year member of the Society, Jan has served on its board for many years in a variety of capacities. She is currently Secretary. Jan also chaired the CJHS’s 40th anniversary program and oversaw its Landsmanshaft exhibit at the Spertus Museum.
A graduate of Bradley University, Jan earned several master’s degrees—in speech language and pathology, curriculum and development, and administration. After starting her career in the Morton Grove School District, she took several years off to raise her children before returning to the Chicago public schools, where she worked for many years in speech/language pathology.
Jan has a long and abiding love for Jewish history and culture. Early on, she was involved with B’nai B’rith Girls and the North American Federation of Temple Youth, the youth movement of Reform Judaism in North America.
Jan loves being a mom to twin daughters and a grandmother to two grandsons.
