Jacob Kaplan

Jacob Kaplan is a Chicago historian with a particular interest in Chicago’s overlooked built environment. He co-founded Forgotten Chicago (forgottenchicago.com), a group that was set up to conduct research, write articles, and conduct tours and lectures focused around Chicago’s overlooked history and architecture. Kaplan co-authored two Arcadia Publishing history books, “Images of America: Avondale and Chicago’s Polish Village” and “Images of America: Logan Square.” In addition to his historical pursuits, he is the Executive Director of the Cook County Democratic Party. Kaplan has a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Northeastern Illinois University and a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
